Operation Mukti Abhiyan is being conducted in all the districts as per the instructions of Director General of Police Ashok Kumar to motivate the children involved in begging for education and to take necessary action for their rehabilitation. Along with this, the Anti Human Trafficking Cell has been directed to prevent juvenile delinquency and arrest the criminals involved in begging. In this sequence, the Anti Human Trafficking Cell in Haridwar arrested a drug addict prince from Rodibelwala area and freed two minor real sisters from his possession. In this regard, the DGP has announced a reward of 50 thousand to the police team. Along with this, Senior Superintendent of Police Haridwar has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation into the possibility of any organized crime in this case.
According to the police, during interrogation, both the sisters told that their mother had died sometime back. The father had gone to Haridwar leaving both the sisters. At the same time Rodibelwala came in contact with Prince. The accused physically abused both of them by threatening them and first forcing them to consume fluid intoxication. Then started begging in Harki Paadi. 06 charges were registered against the accused Prince under POCSO Act and other relevant sections and sent to judicial custody. Both the minor sisters have been given shelter at Kedarpuram Dehradun Child Care Home.
The objective of Operation Mukti is to rehabilitate the children involved in begging by providing them education. So far 5997 child beggars have been identified in this campaign and Anti Human Trafficking Cell has rescued more than half of them from begging in last five years. Out of these 2149 children were enrolled out of which 1394 are still in school, who are studying, learning, playing and envisioning a better future.
Review of property acquisition campaign of criminals
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar, through video conferencing with the circle and district in-charges, reviewed the actions taken in the Uttarakhand Police App and the special campaign for reward and acquisition of wanted criminals and illegally acquired illegal property. He said that the Uttarakhand Police has to become tech-savvy. Uttarakhand Police App is a big step towards smart people friendly and transparent policing. So far 1.5 lakh people have downloaded this app and are taking advantage of its facilities. This app has been created with the objective of providing better facilities to the common people.
He said that all district in-charges should give wide publicity to this app, so that more and more people can take advantage of its facilities. More services will be added to it in future. In view of women’s safety, registration in its Gaura Shakti feature should be increased. Make them feel safe by coordinating with the registered women and resolving their complaints. Gave these instructions
1. It was decided to classify the SR Cases file of heinous crimes under Red Flag and Double Red Flag. The district in-charge will write the SR file in his own handwriting. Will personally inspect the spot within 24 hours. A case officer will be appointed for better prosecution of the cases.
2. Make maximum use of the reflection app. Equipment has been made available to take fingerprints of the accused, they should be used. Soon training will be conducted by NCRB to keep record of iris and retina of the accused.
3. To increase the percentage of arrest of prized/wanted criminals and all district in-charges were directed to identify illegally acquired illegal properties and take action for acquisition.
4. CUG mobile numbers will be provided to women helpdesk and Cheetah mobile within a week.
