Rishikesh. BJP MLA from Yamkeshwar Assembly Constituency Renu Bisht had to face the wrath of the angry people over the Ankita murder case at AIIMS on Saturday. Angered by Ankita’s murder, people ransacked his car, accusing the MLA of saving the accused resort operator.
During this, the police intervened and handled the matter. Due to public anger, the BJP MLA had to return to Barang. The body of Ankita Bhandari, missing since September 18, was recovered by the police from the Chila Shakti Canal at around 7:45 am on Saturday. The body was brought to the post-mortem house of AIIMS for post-mortem.
On the occasion, DM Pauri Dr. Vijay Jogdande, Senior Superintendent of Police Pauri Jaswant Singh Chauhan, SDM Yamkeshwar Pramod Kumar, SDM Rishikesh Shailendra Negi, Tehsildar Yamkeshwar Manjit Singh, Revenue Sub Inspector Rishikesh Sudhir Saini, Satish Joshi along with a large number of police forces were deployed.
BJP’s Yamkeshwar MLA Renu Bisht reached AIIMS to console Ankita’s family members, meanwhile, people standing outside the post-mortem house surrounded her. The agitated people accused the MLA of saving the resort operator Pulkit Arya, the killer of Anki
The allegation was made that by trying to demolish the resort late on Friday night, the work of eradicating the evidence related to the Ankita murder case has been done. While the police administration had to reach the resort on Saturday morning for forensic investigation etc. It is alleged that the MLA has done the work of influencing the investigation.
The angry mob started vandalizing the MLA’s vehicle. On this the police had to take charge. The police took the MLA out of AIIMS along with the vehicle, while saving him from the angry people.
The chairperson of the State Women’s Commission was also returned bitter
Rishikesh. On Saturday morning at around 11:50 am, State Commission for Women Chairperson Kusum Kandwal also reached the post-mortem house of AIIMS. As soon as she got down from the car and went ahead to console the relatives of the deceased Ankita Bhandari sitting near the post-mortem house, the angry public started shouting slogans of go back.
The angry mob said that Ankita Bhandari, the receptionist at Vanantara Resort, had gone missing on September 18 under suspicious circumstances. The State Women’s Commission did not take care of it. After meeting Ankita’s body from Chila Shaktinahar, the State Women’s Commission has reached here to console the family.
Due to heavy protests, State Women’s Commission President Kusum Kandwal also had to return to Barang.
