Brainstorming on Green Energy and Agriculture and Technology at the 3rd Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival

ONGC Director General (Energy) told about investment opportunities in the field of geothermal energy in Uttarakhand

Discussion on the production of cannabis and the utility of millets took place in the Agriculture and Technology Conference.

The 3rd Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival (2022) was celebrated with much fanfare at UCOST. On the second day of the festival, the Agriculture Conference, Science Quiz, and a Green Energy Conclave under Energy Conservation were also organized in which representatives from CII, UREDA, Power Corporation, and ONGC, and researchers from various colleges participated. During the festival, Professor Durgesh Pant, Director General, UCOST apprised everyone about the importance of water conservation, energy conservation, and installation of solar panels in the council. An Agriculture and Technology Conference was also organized on the occasion. Dr. Reema Pant discussed the importance of green energy, how to recycle e-waste and plastic, and the major issues related to it. Mrs. Sonia Garg spoke on the importance of e-vehicles and the need for indigenous production of raw materials. Shri B C K Mishra (Ex MD, UPCL) talked about reducing the carbon footprint. Shri Sandeep Singh (UJVNL) said that Uttarakhand has high hydropower resources and we should focus on the feasibility of operating these projects. Pro. s. Rai (VC, UPES) talked about various aspects of energy planning, production, and consumption. He said that saving energy is the production of energy in a way. In the program, the Chief Guest, Director General (Energy Centre), ONGC talked about various geothermal drilling projects of ONGC and discussed the achievements of ONGC in the field of Green Energy.
More than 1500 students and researchers participated in various workshops on the second day of the festival and a total of 12000 students visited the science and technology exhibition on the first and second day.
The festival also organized an agricultural conference in which Dr. Nripendra spoke about the importance of hemp, goat-goat meat, and milk union and Mrs. Rupa Soni spoke about millet and its products and its importance in the hill economy. Ajay Sharma narrated the success story of the Buckaroo Project and the four times increase in the income of the farmers associated with this project. Chief Guest and Vice Chancellor of Horticulture University, Prof. Onkar Singh underlined the increasing importance of technology in the field of agriculture. Thousands of students enjoyed the science and technology festival.
