New Delhi : In the midst of the increasing threat of corona virus in the country, the speed of vaccination is also being increased rapidly by the government. At the same time, the emphasis on immunization of children increased amid the threat of Omicron. While the vaccine has been given to children aged 15 to 18 years from February 3, now it has been announced to give vaccine to children between the age group of 12 to 14 years. The vaccination of children of this age group will start in the month of March. NK Arora, chairman of the Central Government’s covid-19 Working Group (NTAGI), made this announcement on Monday.
Vaccination of 12 to 14 year old children in the country will start in March. NGAGI President NK Arora has said that the pace of vaccination is being increased in a phased manner. To accelerate this further, more and more age group people are being included in it.
Arora hoped that by March, the vaccination of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years would be completed. In such a situation, children are expected to be vaccinated in the next phase.
7.5 crore adolescents in the country
According to Dr. Arora, there are 75 million people in the age group of 15-18 in the country. Out of these, 3.45 crore teenagers have got the corona vaccine. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin is being applied to adolescents.
Not only this, those who get this vaccine are also being given the second dose of the vaccine within 28 to 42 days. This is the reason why the vaccination of teenagers is expected to be completed by March. At the same time, vaccination of children between 12 and 14 years can be started in full swing.
