Talking to the media in Udaipur today, Chidambaram said that today the condition of Indian economy in the country is a matter of great concern.
The wrong policies of the Modi government at the Center are responsible for all this. Chidambaram said that today the Modi government is responsible for the rising inflation in the country and today due to inflation, the common man is facing continuous problems.
He said that a new era of liberalization was ushered in by the Congress-led government in 1991, after which today, after 30 years, it is being felt again that economic policies should be taken into account once again keeping in mind the global and domestic development. It’s time to change again.
Chidambaram said that the recovery of the country has stopped after the Corona epidemic. In the last 5 months, the growth projections for the year 2022-23 were reduced from time to time, due to which there has been an increase in inflation which is a threat to the times to come.
He said the government appeared to be unaware of how to deal with these developments. In the last 7 months US $ 22 billion has gone out of the country and foreign exchange reserves have decreased by US $ 36 billion.
Ukraine can’t blame war for oil prices
The former Union Finance Minister said that the central government is blaming the Russia-Ukraine war for the continuous increase in the rates of petrol and diesel, while the prices of crude oil have increased since the war.
On the question of ban on export of wheat, he said that I believe that the central government has failed to procure enough wheat, it is an anti-farmer move. I am not surprised because this government has never been friendly to the farmers.
