Lalkuan : Cyber thugs edited the video and started the game of blackmailing after video calling with an elderly person in Dumkabangar village of Halduchaud area. One lakh rupees extorted by sending obscene video to the old man’s mobile phone. And on asking for money, the matter was opened.
On Thursday, on the complaint of the elder’s son, the police registered a case in unknown and started searching for the thugs. After the video call from the elderly, the vicious ones edited the video and sent it to his mobile phone. Threatened to make the video viral for not paying one lakh rupees.
Fearing loss of respect in the family and society, the elders sent one lakh rupees to the bank account number given by the thugs. The game of blackmailing started with the elderly. By calling from different numbers, they started asking for more money. The elder narrated the whole incident to his son.
On Friday, the son filed a complaint in the Kotwali. Inspector Sanjay Kumar, in-charge of Kotwali, said that the accused would be arrested soon. Police say that do not talk to unknown callers on video call. If you are sure by making a voice call first, then only talk on the video.
