Dehradun 26 May. Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Under the chairmanship of Sandhu, a meeting was held in the secretariat on Friday regarding the proposed 38th National Games in the year 2024. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary gave instructions to speed up all the construction works related to the 38th National Games before the scheduled time. Along with this, instructions were also given to pay special attention to the quality of construction works. The Chief Secretary said that the National Games to be organized in the state should be organized with quality as well as grandeur. He said that being a tourism state, it should be seen as an opportunity. The good image of the state should be known among the participants from all over the country who will come to participate in it. He said that the torch relay program should be organized in every tourist city in the entire state so that the tourism of the state can also be promoted. He said that cultural programs should also be organized along with all the events. The state government will bear the expenditure on this. With this, artists will also get employment, as well as the culture of the state will also be promoted. The Chief Secretary said that the dates for completion of all the works should be fixed so that the construction works can be completed on time and the works should be started and completed on time.
He said that there will be no shortage of budget in any way. He instructed to immediately start the work of purchasing equipment, especially those which are to be imported from abroad. He said that many times the equipment coming from abroad does not reach within the stipulated time due to excessive time taken. The Chief Secretary talked about linking Pauri’s High Altitude Ranshi Stadium with the National Games. Said that before the National Games, state level competitions should also be organized in the state so that the players in the state can be prepared and aware for this.
He said that a team of volunteers should also be prepared for the games. They can also be given a certificate. On this occasion, Special Principal Secretary Mr. Abhinav Kumar, Secretary Mr. Sachin Kurve, Mr. Harichandra Semwal, Additional Secretary Sports Mr. Jitendra Kumar Sonkar and high officials of other related departments were present.
