When the Income Tax Department received complaints about some educational institutions in Bengaluru, the department swung into action without delay. The Income Tax department on Thursday raided several educational institutions in the city of Bengaluru. Two of these educational institutions were under the scanner of the Income Tax Department for a long time.
The Income Tax Department had started raids on them in the morning after suspecting them to be tax evasion. The raids are being carried out at several locations of educational institutions.

According to sources, income tax department officials have been conducting raids in Bengaluru on Sri Krishnadevaraya Institute of Education, Rewa University and Divyashree Sansthan and others since morning. Different teams of the Income Tax Department are conducting raids at different locations. More than 10 places were raided at both corporate offices and educational institution buildings. A team of I-T officials from Karnataka and Goa zones are conducting raids in this raid. A team of 250 officials of the Income Tax Department was involved in the operation. Searches have also been conducted at the premises of prominent persons associated with these institutes. It is not yet known how long the raid will last.

The Income Tax Department had received a complaint that these educational institutions were charging huge fees from foreign students.
