Uttarakhand : In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, a case of mass market offering prayers has come to the fore. The Ranipur Police has arrested 8 people who were offering Namaz at a public place in the weekly market near Chinmaya Degree College, Haridwar. The police got information that small traders who came to the market were offering Namaz at a public place. On getting information, police reached the spot.
Police said that a case of 8 people offering prayers publicly in the Peeth Bazar of Shivaliknagar, a residential colony located near the district headquarters, came to light late on Thursday evening. In fact, while making a Jamaat in the weekly market to be held in Shivalik Nagar area, while offering Namaz, a person had made a video and complained to the police.
At the same time, the police are active in view of the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar. In view of the law and order situation during Kavad, on receiving the complaint, the police immediately went to the spot and arrested them and challaned these 8 people under the sections of breach of peace.
Confirming the incident, the police said that due to offering Namaz at a public place, the movement of common people was blocked. All these people had come to this weekly market to sell vegetables.
Municipal Superintendent of Police Swatantra Kumar said that among the arrested accused Nizam, Naseem, Sajjad Ahmed, Mursaline, Ashraf, Asghar, Mustaf and Ikram were arrested under Section 151 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) and Deputy District Magistrate-Deputy District Magistrate ( SDM), from where he was released on bail after warning.
Let me tell you, a few days back, a similar case also came to Lulu Mall in Lucknow. Here the police had arrested 4 accused, the madrasa connection of these accused also came to the fore.
