His lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi has sought a few weeks’ time from the Supreme Court to surrender. Behind this, he has cited the ill health of his client as the reason.

Where he had an altercation and scuffle with 65-year-old Gurnam Singh over car parking. During this, Sidhu had knocked Gurnam Singh down on his knees. Later Gurnam Singh died in the hospital.
Case of culpable homicide on Sidhu and his friend-
After the death of Gurnam Singh, it was revealed in the medical report that he died of a heart attack. On the same day, a case of culpable homicide was registered against Sidhu and his friend Rupinder at Kotwali police station. Then the case went to the sessions court. After this, after a long court hearing, the Supreme Court on Thursday sentenced Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year rigorous imprisonment.
