Decision due to increasing cases of corona infection
In view of the increasing cases of corona infection, the state government has imposed many restrictions from Monday to January 15. All schools and colleges in the state will once again be closed. Local trains can be run only till 7 pm.
In an order issued by State Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi, it has been said that from Monday January 3, schools, colleges, universities, spas, salons, beauty parlors, swimming pools, zoos and amusement parks will remain closed. Only essential services will be allowed in the state between 10 pm and 5 am.
As the transition progresses, a shadow of uncertainty has also fallen on the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival. The state government can also postpone the film festival in view of the current situation of Corona.
Staff attendance up to 50 percent
The state government has reimposed COVID restrictions with an order limiting staff attendance in offices to 50 per cent. The government asked the management of industries, factories, mills, tea gardens and other business establishments to ensure strict compliance of the guidelines.
Travel with smart card
Kolkata Metro services will now operate with 50 per cent seating capacity. Passengers will be able to travel only with smart cards.
In view of the spread of Corona, the decision to be taken on the election of four municipal corporations of the state will be taken by the State Election Commission. State Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi said this. The Chief Secretary said that it is the commission’s job to conduct elections. The commission will take the decision.
It is noteworthy that the election schedules of Vidhannagar, Chandannagar, Asansol and Siliguri Municipal Corporations have been declared. Voting is to be held in these four corporations on January 22.
What are the new restrictions
*Local trains will run with 50 percent capacity till 7 pm. All long distance trains will continue to operate.
*All government and private offices will function with 50 percent staff. Administrative meetings will be conducted through virtual mode.
*For Delhi-Mumbai, flights will operate only two days a week on Mondays and Fridays. This system will come into effect from January 5.
*All tourist places in the state will be closed from Monday.
*The organizers of all religious, cultural and social functions in the state will have to ensure that not more than 50 people participate in them.
*Not more than 50 persons will be allowed in marriage related functions.
*Not more than 20 persons will be allowed to attend the funeral.
*Shopping malls and market complexes will remain open till 10 pm. More than 50 percent of the people will not be allowed to come from the capacity.
* Restaurants and bars will also be able to remain open till 10 pm. Operation will be done with 50 percent capacity at a time. Similar restrictions will be applicable for cinema halls and multiplexes as well.
* Meetings and conferences will be allowed at a time with a maximum of 200 people or 50 percent of the hall’s seating capacity, whichever is less.
* Movement of people and vehicles will be restricted between 10 pm to 5 am. Only people connected with essential and emergency services will be allowed.
