Many states of the country are in the grip of cold wave since the beginning of the new year. Alam is that Rajasthan’s Mount Abu, which tolerates temperature up to 50 degree, is chilling at -6 degree temperature. On the other hand, today was the coldest morning of this season in Delhi, in which the minimum temperature was recorded at 1.8 degree Celsius. Along with this, in many states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, it is also getting cold and people have to face cold wind and fog. Because of this, many states are extending the holidays in schools, so that the students of the schools stay safe in their homes in this bitter cold. Delhi
The Directorate of Education in Delhi has announced winter vacation for the students of class 1st to 8th from 1st January to 15th January. At the same time, the officials have asked to set up classes from class 9 to 12 with protection from cold.
Rajasthan
Earlier, the district collector of Rajasthan had ordered all government schools to remain closed from December 25 to January 5 due to cold, but in view of the continuous drop in temperature and cold wave, winter vacations have been extended till January 9.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to cold wave in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, holidays have been declared for the students of class 8 and below, which will remain in force till January 10. Today the lowest minimum temperature of 0.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Nowgong town of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
Punjab
In Punjab, a holiday has been declared for schools in many districts till January 8. At the same time, the opening time of schools in many districts has been changed from 21 December to 21 January at 10 am. However, there has been no change in the closing time of the schools.
Bihar
Holiday has been declared till January 7, 2023 in the schools of Muzaffarpur and Patna districts of Bihar. Experts have told the authorities that sending children to school in such low temperatures could put their health and lives at risk.
Haryana
Holiday has been declared in schools in Haryana from January 1 to January 15. However, in view of the board examinations, classes of class 9th and 12th will be held, the time of which will be from 10 am. If the holidays are not extended now, then from January 16, classes for all classes will be held.
Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, all schools up to class 12 have been ordered to be closed till January 7. Along with this, the school has been closed till January 14 in Mainpuri district. On the other hand, schools in Noida and Greater Noida from classes 1 to 8 will remain closed till January 14, 2023. Apart from this, the opening time of schools from class 9 to 12 has been changed to 10 am.
