Senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik passed away this morning on 14th March. He breathed his last at the age of 78 in Gurgaon district of Haryana. His PA Mohan told that he had slipped in the bathroom at around 9 am today. Soon after that he was taken to Pratiksha Hospital near the house. Where the doctors declared him dead. Senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik was born on 30 December 1944 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He did his PhD in International Politics from JNU. He was a teacher of political science in Delhi for four years. He was also very interested in philosophy and political science.
Ved Pratap was a well-known journalist of Vedic Hindi language. The last time he appeared in the newspaper headlines was when he interviewed Mumbai attacks mastermind and terrorist Hafiz Saeed. His interview was very much discussed. Dr. Vedic journalism worked for a long time in the field of political thought, international politics, and Hindi.
Apart from being knowledgeable in international affairs, he had a hold on Russian, Persian, German and Sanskrit languages. He is the first scholar of India who wrote his thesis on International Politics in Hindi. He studied and researched at Columbia University in New York, Institut Narodov Aji in Moscow, School of Oriental and African Studies in London and Kabul University in Afghanistan during his PhD research.
