Mumbai : The Governor has asked the Uddhav government in Maharashtra for a floor test tomorrow. But Shiv Sena has reached the Supreme Court regarding this. Shiv Sena has demanded a stay on Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s decision of floor test.
In fact, the Governor has called a special session of the Legislative Assembly tomorrow. In which the floor test is to be held between 11 am to 5 pm. Where Maha Vikas Aghadi will have to prove majority. Which is hardly visible because of the numbers game.
On behalf of Shiv Sena, Chief Whip Sunil Prabhu applied to the Supreme Court to stay the floor test. Which has been approved by the Supreme Court and the hearing is to be held at 5 pm today.
After hearing the argument of senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on behalf of Shiv Sena, the court has allowed it. On the other hand, the lawyer of Shinde faction opposed the application of Shiv Sena. But the court did not accept his argument.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has called the demand for floor test illegal. He said that the matter of disqualification of the MLAs is still pending. Raut has also accused the BJP and the Governor of playing with the Constitution. He has already made it clear that we will go against this decision in the Supreme Court.
The Governor has said many important things while convening a special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He has clearly said that the only agenda of the session is the power test of the government.
Therefore it cannot be postponed. The Governor has said in his letter that the current political situation in Maharashtra is not correct. 39 MLAs from Shiv Sena are talking of leaving the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He has cited media reports behind this.
