Tokyo : Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Tokyo, the capital of Japan, on his two-day visit on Monday. The PM will participate in the Quad group meeting during his two-day visit. Modi has arrived in Tokyo at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
India, the US, Japan and Australia are involved in the Quad Security Dialogue Initiative. On Monday, PM Modi met Dr. Nobuhiro Ando, President of NEC Corporation. He also met Osamu Suzuki, an advisor to Suzuki Motor Corporation in Tokyo. PM Modi also met Tadashi Yanai, CEO of Fast Retailing.
On meeting Dr. Nobuhiro Ando, President, NEC Corporation, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted that PM Modi appreciated the role of NEC in India’s telecom sector and discussed the opportunities in new and emerging technologies in India.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi and the Chairman of NEC Corporation discussed various reforms being undertaken to make it easier to do business in India, including in the areas of industrial development, taxation and labour.
During this he met with SoftBank Group Corp’s board director Masayoshi Son, Suzuki Motor Corporation advisor Osamu Suzuki. Modi also met Tadashi Yanai, CEO of Fast Retailing. The two discussed investment opportunities for textile manufacturing in India under the PLI scheme.
US President Joe Biden has also arrived in Tokyo to attend the Quad conference to be held in Japan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken attended the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework event in Tokyo.
Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Japan is contributing to the stable prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region with the support of the US and regional partners.
Let us tell you, Prime Minister Modi will be involved in 23 events including meeting with three world leaders during his stay of about 40 hours in Japan.
According to the information, PM Modi will interact with more than 36 Japanese CEOs and hundreds of Indian expatriate members. It is being told that apart from the quad meeting, PM Modi and US President Joe Biden will also hold a bilateral meeting in Tokyo. Apart from bilateral relations, Russia-Ukraine issue will also be discussed in this meeting.
