Bageshwar : Police has rescued the body of Singh Danu, a guide missing for the past nine months in Sunderdhunga valley of Bageshwar district. He has been handed over to his relatives and his last rites have also been performed on Monday. He had taken the trekkers from West Bengal in October last year.
Five trackers were killed in this. Their bodies were also recovered by the district administration, the guide was missing and he was discovered by his brother in the past.
The police team was on a continuous rescue operation for a week. She had returned due to the rise in the water level of the river Shambhu and landslides. On July 16, the operation was again carried out and the body was rescued and handed over to the relatives. SHO Pratap Singh Nagarkoti said that the campaign was a complete success. He said that the body has been cremated.
