Jalpaiguri : The number of children suffering from fever at Jalpaiguri District Sadar Hospital is increasing. So far, 130 children have been admitted to the children’s ward of the hospital. A delegation of doctors from North Bengal Medical College visited Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital to check the situation.

Hundreds of children are admitted with fever, stomach upset and convulsions in some cases. Such crowds are also growing outside the Jalpaiguri District Sadar Hospital. The number of children admitted to the hospital has increased to 130 in the last 24 hours. As of Monday, the number of victims was 121. Two of the affected children have been shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

A five-member medical team from North Bengal Medical College went to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital on Monday to check the situation. The party representatives also held emergency meetings with health officials of Jalpaiguri district, including North Bengal Public Health Officer on Special Duty (OSD) physician Sushant Roy. “Every child is being tested for covid,” said Sushant. Dengue and malaria tests also did not find much. It seems that influenza is due to climate change. The recovery rate is also high. The situation of a few people became complicated. They have been shifted to North Bengal Medical College. The infrastructure is ready for the Pediatric Care Unit (PICU). ”

Jalpaiguri District Magistrate Moumita Godara Basu went to the hospital on Monday. The number of beds in the pediatric ward of the hospital has been increased as the number of sick children is increasing. The district magistrate said that steps are being taken to start Piku in the hospital as soon as possible. Moumita said, “I saw how far Piku’s work has progressed. This disease is happening due to climate change. Samples have been sent for testing. “
