Uttrakhand : A voter awareness campaign was conducted by the Child Development Department in Haja Dasau village of Chakrata Vidhan Sabha on Thursday. The women of the village took an oath to cast 100% vote by applying henna on their hands.
Along with this, women flew kites writing messages to make voting aware. Anju Badola, CDPO of Chakrata Block said that often women from rural areas do not have awareness about voting. Women vote in Panchayat elections, but are not interested in voting in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Due to this, many times such candidates reach the Legislative Assembly or Lok Sabha, which are not the choice of half the population.
Due to this, the problems of the area are not solved in time. Also, the problems related to women are also not discussed. He said that cent percent voting is necessary to keep a healthy democracy strong. Vivek Nautiyal, a youth of the village who voted for the first time, said that it is the moral obligation of every adult citizen to exercise his right to vote in a democracy.
A clean image government is formed only by the exercise of the franchise, which makes policies transparently for the improvement of the standard of living of the citizens and for the development of the country and the state.
