New Delhi : The third wave of Omicron, a new variant of Corona, is going on all over the world. In such a situation, people across the country are constantly being appealed to follow the covid-19 guideline to avoid corona. Now the booster dose of corona vaccine has also arrived, due to which success is also being achieved to a great extent in preventing infection. However, cases of corona are increasing continuously in many countries including India. In such a situation, you should also know about the right treatment and medicines.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently issued a new guideline regarding the drugs used in the treatment of corona, in which the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended two new medicines. Let us know, which medicines you should use in the treatment of corona and which medicines should be avoided.
Which assertion is correct to use:
According to the new guidelines of WHO, drugs like baricitinib, casirivimab-imdevimab, tocilizumab or sarilumab, ruxolitinib, sotrovimab can now be given to infected people in the treatment of corona. In this too, experts have specifically considered drugs like tocilizumab, baricitinib or sarilumab and systemic corticosteroids to be better. On the other hand, medicines such as sotrovimab, ruxolitinib, tofacitinib and casirivimab-imdevimab have been asked to be given optional or in special circumstances.
There may be some benefit from these medicines:
WHO claims that these drugs reduce the chances of going to the hospital and reaching the ventilator. At the same time, the risk of serious condition and death is also reduced. In the WHO guideline, it has also been advised not to consume some medicines. These drugs were used in many countries during the most dangerous second wave of Corona.
Medicines that the WHO recommends not to use or says that you should avoid include the well-known drugs like hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, lopinavir/ritonavir and remdesivir. Experts say that there is little evidence to prevent the condition from getting serious with the use of these drugs. In such a situation, it has also been recommended to send some of these drugs for clinical trials.
Which medicine is right for children:
According to WHO, children affected by corona can be given casirivimab-imdevimab medicine. However, the cases of corona in children are not very serious. The UN has said that if a child shows severe symptoms, then the drug Tocilizumab can also be used in its treatment. It can be used in conditions such as polyarticular juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or chimeric antigen receptor T-cell induced cytokine release syndrome. At the same time, it is advised not to use sarilumab for children.
